Non Restricted PAL Course

To acquire firearms legally in Canada you must first take the Non-Restricted Canadian Firearms Safety Course (CFSC) to obtain a valid PAL Licence. The Non-Restricted PAL (Possession Acquisition Licence) allows you to buy ammunition and Non-Restricted firearms, such as rifles & shotguns, in Canada.

• the evolution of firearms, major parts types and actions

• basic firearms safety practices

• ammunition types

• operating firearm actions

• safe handling and carry procedures

• care of non-restricted firearms

• responsibilities of the firearms owner/user

• safe storage, display, transportation and handling of non-restricted firearms.

Restricted PAL Course

The Restricted PAL is for those who have already taken the Non-Restricted course and now want to add restricted status to their PAL. Those with a Restricted PAL can purchase Restricted firearms, like handguns and restricted rifles, in Canada.

• care of restricted firearms

• responsibilities of the firearms owner/user

CORE Hunting Course

The Conservation and Outdoor Recreation Education (CORE) Program is British Columbia's Hunter Education Program. This Course is required to get a hunting licence in BC.

The CORE Program consists of a practical firearms handling test, and a written examination on all of the following subjects:

• Ethics

• Law and Regulations

• First Aid and Survival

• Firearm Safety

• Animal Identification

• Bird Identification
