The BCWF allows CORE challenges.
There are two tests required to be completed. An 80 question written test as well as a practical firearms handling test. Cost for each test is $30.00 plus GST
If you can prove you have completed a PAL Non-Restricted course you are only required to complete the written test.
Can I just show my PAL?
No. When bill C-42 came into power people who had a POL licence and had never taken a safety course received a PAL. You must show a copy of your course report as per the BC Wildlife Federation.If you do not have a copy of your course report you can call the Canadian Firearms Centre at 1-800-731-4000 and they will email you a confirmation of the date you completed your course. This is not required for Black Dog Firearms Training PAL students as we have your records.
It is recommended you take your PAL course before you complete the CORE so that you are trained how to handle firearms safely and legally. If you are hunting and you do not have a PAL you MUST be under direct supervision of an adult with a valid PAL. You are not allowed to own a firearm or have one in your possession without a valid Possession Acquisition Licence (PAL).
